Surviving in this Economy

Salt Creek Finishing is so much more than just a Painting Co. We have expanded in several different areas in our field.

In the past we focused on our primary business which for over 20 years was Residential New Construction. We handled the full aspect of painting and wood finishing in a home. With the downturn in the housing market we have had to try to re-invent ourself and still stay doing what we love and know.

Repaints, Refinishing cabinets and our Re-Kindled line of vintage furniture along with the new construction projects is the way of the times.

With all that said I love my furniture. Finding the perfect piece then transforming it into something new and fresh. We found this Edison Phonograph #17 at a thrift store that if it was in great shape would be considered and collectable antique, the past history on this one was not so kind. It's pretty beat up as you can see in the photo not much to be disired. We have completely taken it apart and Re-Kindling it in a fresh modern look that anyone would love to have as a conversation piece in their home or office.

Right now it is being primed and refinished with a black interior and a lime green exterior. Which matches the original color of the turn table. I can't wait for this one to be finished. IT's going to be a hot item. I will post progress photos as we go.

I am excited to announce we will be selling our Re-Kindled line at Not Too Shabby in Old Town Folsom, Ca. So stop by and check out our treasures.

Folsom Project, Complete!

Another very satisfied client. This kitchen.....what an amazing transformation. Completed in a tone tone sceme. Partial done in our Mocha with a espresso glaze. And the bar area accented in our Kaluah finish.

Done for a fraction of what a new kitchen would cost and a 1/3 of refacing.

Kitchen Transformation

The Kitchen Transformation Project
Folsom, Ca.

This is a project we started this week. Anyone who has a typical kitchen from the 70"S+ you can save literally thousands of $$$$ by refinishing.
This particular kitchen will be refinished in a two tone look. The main part of the kitchen is going our Mocha finish with the Island and wet bar in Kaluah finish. If your looking for a refinish job on a kitchen, bath or any wood be sure to ask what type of product you are getting and know that any great finish starts with the prepwork. It should take at least one full day for prep in a standard size kitchen. This project is being refinished with a pigmented lacquer product.
Watch how we transform these old dull cabinets into a new hip looking kitchen. Knowledge is everything, you don't always know what your options are so don't be sold on the idea of always having to go new. If you have a solid cabinet with great looking door style but need a change this is a great option for you.

This project should be on schedule to finish in a week. Photos to follow.

Refinishing Project

Today we were out shipping the White Tea Table to a buyer in LA. I love Greyhound GPX for any of our shipping needs. FYI...It literally cost 1/3 of what UPS or Fed Ex charges.

Then off to get our material for a kitchen we start on Monday. We are refinishing a kitchen which currently has Honey Oak cabinets. Once we are done with them the kitchen will look like a new room. Part of the kitchen is going a cream with a pencil glaze accent and the bar area is going a dark kaluah finish.

Pictures will follow as the progress takes place. On a refinishing job the transformation is amazing.

BYE BYE LITTLE WHITE TEA TABLE

This little gem is sold. A great find we Re-Kindled in a white finish with a antique glazing.

Nothing is more rewarding than finding a lost treasure and bring it back to life with a new finish and purpose. Then being able to pass it on to a new home for another 20 to 50 years. That's what it's all about.

Thank you to all of our customers who visit our store and online sites for that special piece for that special place.

Thanks again.

Pink Cotton Candy

Remeber when you were a kid and went to your local state or county fair, the first thing I did was track down the cotton candy stand. These two side tables remind me of that great feeling I got when I would first see the cotton candy stand.

These two one of a kind end tables are finished to fit perfect in your childs room or a space looking for that little funky flair.

These little sweets are ready to ship.
